What We’ve Been Up To
Outside of our client work, we collectively participate in several events throughout the year including an annual beach day, community service events, and more! Check out some of our recent events below. We also contribute internally to a number of industry-focused publications.
Holiday Party (December 2016)
The highly anticipated SBCG holiday party did not disappoint. The annual bash is held at a different location in Los Angeles each year. There was dinner, dancing and a photo booth (fun in the moment, even better in the aftermath), but the highlight of the evening was founder Rich Semler’s famed port toast—a tradition since the company’s founding.
Gingerbread House Competition (December 2016)
To ring in the holidays, a host of SBCG-ers with latent architectural ambitions convened in the breakroom for a cut-throat good-naturedly competitive gingerbread-house-making contest. After a physically and psychologically grueling pleasant and convivial hour of intrigue and sabotage fun, one of the confectionary houses was at last crowned champion by collusion and graft popular vote.
Halloween Costume Contest (October 2016)
As usual, everyone in the office pulled out all the stops for Semler Brossy’s annual Halloween Costume Contest. Gift cards were awarded to the best-dressed individual and group, but the true prize was eternal bragging rights. Some seek immortality in buildings or bronze, others seek it in office photo albums…
AIDS Walk LA (October 2016)
We had a team of 25 walkers participate in the annual AIDS Walk Los Angeles in October. This event is a 10 kilometer walk through downtown LA that fundraises for APLA Health, an organization that provides prevention, care, and advocacy programs to those affected by HIV or AIDS. We reached our goals for team size and donation amount which meant we enjoyed a company sponsored coffee and donut breakfast to fuel us for the walk.
Beach Day (October 2016)
We head to the beach each fall following our Dream It, Do It idea fair to enjoy some beach volleyball, fresh lobster, and the California sun. This year we spent the warm October day at Paradise Cove in Malibu.
