Our Principals Our Consulting Staff

Marc Baranski, Managing Principal, has helped clients address human capital issues since 1993. Prior to joining the firm, Marc was a Principal at Mercer as the investment management segment leader for the human capital consulting business. Marc also spent 12 years at Sibson, where he was the leader of the Financial Services Industry Practice and managed the London and Princeton offices.

Roger Brossy, co-Managing Director, has been an executive compensation consultant since 1981. He was the President of Sibson & Company and served on its Board of Directors for many years before co-founding Semler Brossy Consulting Group. Roger also served as Sibson's Practice Director for Financial Services.

Seymour Burchman, Managing Principal, has been an executive compensation consultant for over 20 years. His work focuses on reinforcing key strategies and leading to improved shareholder value through the identification of performance measures and goal setting processes. He has served companies across a wide range of industries, including financial services, healthcare, high technology and publishing.

Dayna Harris, Principal, has been an executive compensation consultant since 1990. She has extensive experience in financial measurement, executive compensation and incentive plan development across a wide range of industries. Formerly with Sibson & Company for five years, Dayna has also worked with Strategic Compensation Associates and Mercer Consulting.

Blair Jones, Managing Principal, has been an executive compensation consultant since 1991. She has worked extensively across industries, including healthcare, retail, professional services and consumer products, and has particular depth of expertise working with companies in transitional stages. Prior to joining SBCG, Blair was the practice leader in Leadership Performance and Rewards at Sibson.

Dan Marcus, Managing Principal, has over twenty-five years of experience consulting to senior management and boards of directors on corporate governance issues, performance measurement, development, and management compensation design. Prior to joining SBCG, Dan was a Worldwide Partner with Mercer Human Resources Consulting and served as Managing Partner of SCA Consulting.

Richard Semler, co-Managing Director, has been an executive compensation consultant since 1988. He was World Practice Leader for Management Performance and Rewards at Sibson & Company and served on its Board of Directors. Prior to that, Rich was a Citicorp Vice President responsible for worldwide and executive compensation and U.S. Regional Human Resources.

Todd Sirras, Managing Principal, has been in the compensation field since receiving his MBA from New York University's Stern School of Business in 1998. In addition to consulting, he also served Bank of America as a Senior Vice President, and has worked as a market maker in equity options for SBC O'Connor and as an equity index futures and options trader for a New York hedge fund.

Chip Thomas, Principal, has been an executive compensation and human resource consultant since 1985. He was the National Accounts Leader at Sibson & Company, managed North American consulting and also served on its Board of Directors. Chip has extensive experience in serving Boards and Senior Executives in the areas of incentive design and performance measurement.

Doug Tormey, Principal, is our lead technical advisor providing expertise on tax, legal, and accounting issues, particularly in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and buy-outs. He is a frequent lecturer and author, including contributions to ERISA and Benefits Law Journal and Compensation & Benefits Management. Doug received his JD degree from Hofstra Law School and a BA degree from Fordham University.
