Nine Additional Companies Fail Say on Pay

1,862 Russell 3000 companies have filed CEO Pay Ratio disclosures in 2018. The median of ratios filed thus far is 71:1, and the median of median employee compensation is $63,804.
To date, 1,909 Russell 3000 companies have held Say on Pay votes and nine additional companies have failed since our last report – Acacia Research, Bed Bath & Beyond, Hospitality Properties Trust, Medifast, Patterson UTI Energy, Qualys, Trinseo, Universal Insurance Holdings, and Zoe’s Kitchen. The current failure rate (2.6%) is 110 basis points higher than last year’s failure rate.
Four environmental (10.3%) and four social (4.0%) proposals have received greater than 50% support in 2018. 480 equity proposals have been submitted thus far in 2018. By comparison, 732 equity proposals had been submitted at the same time last year.
