Twelve Additional Companies Fail Say on Pay

1,785 Russell 3000 companies have filed CEO Pay Ratio disclosures in 2018. The median of ratios filed thus far is 72:1, and the median of median employee compensation is $63,967. To date, 1,067 Russell 3000 companies have held Say on Pay votes and twelve additional companies have failed since our last report – Chesapeake Energy, Chicago Bridge & Iron, FCB Financial, Halliburton, Huron Consulting Group, iStar, Molina Healthcare, Mondelez International, Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, USG Corp., Virtus Investments Partners, and Waterstone Financial. The current failure rate (2.2%) is 70 basis points higher than last year’s failure rate. Three environmental (13.6%) and four social (7.5%) proposals have received greater than 50% support in 2018. By comparison, only seven environmental (2.0%) and nine social (1.0%) proposals passed over the previous seven years combined.
